Kellenberg prides itself on its ability to create leaders. A student who embodies this leadership quality is junior Amelia Campbell.
This past summer, Amelia participated in the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Program, otherwise known as HOBY.
HOBY is a program in which high school freshmen and sophomores learn leadership skills through seminars.
During her time at the summer program Amelia took part in multiple personal growth and team growth exercises. Each person was placed into a group to learn with over the next few days. Multiple guest speakers presented, including the youth motivational speaker David Flood.
The participants also learned skills in business. Amelia’s group created a Photo Booth for this exercise, gaining special recognition for their creativity.
The week concluded with a field day with team building exercises.
This program proved to be a valuable experience for Amelia. She shared, “HOBY has taught me how to lead in my own community and led me to making lifelong friends.”
Congratulations to Amelia on this amazing opportunity.
