Article by Phoenix writer Cristina Palmieri ’25:
On Wednesday, October 26, the Body, Mind, and Heart Club held the Let’s Walk Let’s Talk event on the track at Matthew Field. About 80 students from the Body, Mind, and Heart Club, Health Science Club, Fashion Club, and Varsity Girls Soccer team joined together for the event. While walking the track, students discussed their goals for the year and how they will achieve them.
Walking and talking improve not only the body but the mind as well. Taking walks can reduce stress and anxiety, while talking can break issues down into smaller pieces. Attendees were able to engage with each other, also benefiting mental health.
Body, Mind, and Heart Club moderator, Miss Urbanski, was very impressed with the number of people who attended the Let’s Walk Let’s Talk event. She said, “We hope to have more events like this one and with more participation school wide”. The Body, Mind, and Heart Club meets every Wednesday at 3:15 in room 201 and is open to any high school student.
