The Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse team defeated Fordham Prep 11-10 on May 2.
After a back-and-forth second half which saw four different tie scores, Mike Anzelone scored the game winner with three minutes remaining. This was one of Anzelone’s team leading three goals on the day.
Nick Johnson and Thomas Jack scored two goals while Mike Felicetti, Maverick Chernoff, Donovan O’Toole and Peter Sluka each scored one.
Defensively, the team was led by goalie Charlie Villa who recorded twelve saves while Owen Fitzgerald, Owen McDevitt, Chris Moore and Nick Johnson shut down Fordham Prep for the final two minutes to seal the victory.
Head Coach Fechtmann expressed his pride in his team saying that the win “meant a lot for the team going into the final stretch of the season.”
Coach Fechtmann also expressed the team’s ups and downs throughout the season, so their victory over Fordham Prep in the final stretch of the regular season is a good way to head into playoffs.
The boys close out the regular season against St. Joseph Regional High School on May 13 before playoffs.
