On October 4, 2022, Kellenberg Memorial High School welcomed Denise Scalzo, the Executive Director of Manhattan College’s Financial Aid Administration, for their annual Financial Aid Night. At this event, Denise introduced the FAFSA application to families, explaining that it allows families to hear from colleges about the financial process to apply to their school. Denise also presented the fundamentals of the CCS profile, including what it is and how to file for it. In addition, Denise provided the families tips about the process, providing do’s and don’ts as well as scholarship money information. Due to the fact that the college financial process is unique to every family, this night opened the opportunity for parents to gain any additional information to suit their needs. Kellenberg provides additional help throughout this process in the College Placement office where students can speak to a counselor. Financial Aid Night serves as a light to guide parents through this vigorous process and now families have a better understanding of the recommended resources they will have access to along the way.
