The History Club has announced a plan to send Valentine’s Day cards to a 104-year-old Marine Corps veteran. Major Bill White of California has asked the public to send him cards to add to his collection of keepsakes, which even contains a Purple Heart. He explained that he loves scrap-booking and will save “every single one.” The History club decided to join in and send him as many as they can. Moderator Mr. Heitner says non-members may submit cards as well, but all cards must be in by Friday, February 7. Club members spent their meeting on February 5 decorating their own cards for Major White.
