On Friday, September 22nd, the One Heart, One Mind, Many Cultures Club hosted a dance class to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, which began on September 15th. Kellenberg alumnus, Mario Cadavid ‘97, led the class along with Lourdes and Daniel Cruz.
Over forty students came to learn the basics of merengue, bachata, and salsa. There was a reasonably even split, with around twenty boys and twenty girls.
“I had a great time learning to dance. It was really fun watching my friends trying to keep up with the teachers,” said junior Hunter Ciolli.
Not only was this class an enjoyable experience for students, but for teachers as well. Teachers such as Mrs. Marten and Mrs. Frem were eager to learn how to dance.
“I will definitely be taking my husband to another class with me!” Mrs. Frem remarked.
The One Heart One Mind Many Cultures Club is looking forward to many more successful activities in the future.
The One Heart One Mind Many Cultures Club’s main mission is to promote the awareness of, and appreciation for, diverse cultures. This is achieved through club activities, such as multicultural celebrations, games, guest speakers, and much more!
