Kellenberg’s College Placement Office has been guiding the Juniors through the college process. Through college fairs, virtual webinars, and college guidance counselors, the Placement Office has been giving students useful information about the transition from high school into college.
At the beginning of the year, the placement office offered the first virtual webinar on the application process. Students registered for the event where they learned how to search for colleges, and what to expect during the college admissions. Kellenberg has also been using the college website, Naviance, which helps students connect to colleges by creating resumes, searching for scholarships, and finding college matches.
Between September and October, mini-college fairs were held with representatives from different colleges giving information. On Tuesday, May 2nd Juniors attended career night, in which different employees, doctors, and business professionals lectured students about careers they might want to pursue.
On Tuesday, May 16th, the Juniors attended a virtual career night on how to apply to colleges in the upcoming fall season. In addition, each individual student gets a chance to talk one on one with their guidance counselor assigned to them by the college placement office. With all these college informational meetings, Kellenberg’s class of 2024 is well prepared for the upcoming college process.
