Article by Phoenix writer Bella O’Donnell ’24:
One of Kellenberg’s Christmas traditions is an annual concert highlighting the musical talents of its students in the band, chorus, and orchestra.
The Latin School held its concert on December 7. The high school’s Firebird concert took place on December 9 and the Phoenix concert was on December 16.
The Phoenix concert opened with the orchestra performing the Star Spangled Banner. The orchestra performed many joyous Christmas selections including a selection from A Charlie Brown Christmas.
The chorus then began their portion of the concert singing the classic Carol of the Bells. The chorus also sang spirited Christmas songs including White Winter Hymnal and You’ll Be Swinging.
The band performed last, playing a selection following Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Finally, the band, chorus and orchestra joined together in performing A Jubilant Christmas.
Junior Andrew Miglino, a violinist, noted that “We all worked tremendously hard for this concert and were very pleased with our performance.”
All Kellenberg’s talented musicians did a wonderful job and spread the Christmas spirit.
