Article by Phoenix writer Delaney Clark ’25:
On Wednesday, September 25th, the College Placement Office held one of its many mini college fairs in the courtyard. The purpose of these fairs is to give upperclassmen the
opportunity to build a relationship with admissions representatives while also learning more about each individual school.
Many schools attended the fair on the 25th: NYIT, Binghamton University, College of Charleston, Nova Southeastern University, Quinnipiac University, University at Albany SUNY, Maine Maritime Academy, Manhattanville University, Mount Saint Mary College, SUNY New Paltz, Alvernia University, and Brandeis University.
Many different mini fairs are held over the course of the year, each one offering exposure to different colleges and universities. Mr. Dugal of the College Placement Office shares, “We are so proud that over one hundred schools in total attend the mini fairs each year. This is clear proof that many colleges have great interest in our Firebird scholars!”
These fairs are particularly helpful to upperclassmen who are beginning their college
search. Senior Ryan McGlade says, “The college fairs were very helpful and showed me lots of schools with fun options that I haven’t thought of before!”
Make sure to be attentive to the afternoon announcements to hear updates about the next
college fair!
