Article by Phoenix writer Sophia Venturino ’26:
On October 30, the fashion club hosted a guest speaker to discuss her experiences in the world of fashion.
Moderator of the Fashion Club, Mrs. Delbrune, invited former student Charlotte D’Alessandro ’20 back to Kellenberg to discuss her experiences in the fashion industry with the club. D’Alessandro graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology and has pursued a successful career in fashion since.
Members learned about different fashion careers, as well as colleges they can attend to pursue their dreams.
Senior Gemma Posillico said, “The most interesting thing I learned was that a career in fashion doesn’t have to be limited to the typical designer or stylist, but instead can cater to one’s skills and interests.”
The presentation was more than just a discussion. Freshman Isabella DeAngelo explained, “It was also a very hands-on presentation where we got to design our own inspiration boards and look through fashion magazines.”
The students created fall-themed mood boards with recycled magazines to celebrate the Halloween season.
Charlotte also spoke of her own experiences after high school and offered assistance and guidance to the students.
The presentation was informative and enjoyable for members of the KMHS fashion club. If you are interested in the Fashion Club please speak to Mrs. Delbrune in room 212.
