On Thursday, October 29, 2015, Latin School C.R.O.S.S. Members traveled to the Sunrise Assisted Living Facility in East Meadow to spread Halloween cheer with some special senior citizens. C.R.O.S.S. Members had designed and painted small pumpkins and fall greeting cards to share with the residents. Upon our arrival, our group of over fifty students divided up into two groups. One group joined residents in the Reminisce Room to visit and share some conversation with the Alzheimer patients there. The other students sang and danced to Halloween favorites such as “Monster Mash” and “Ghostbusters” in the main dining room during the Sunrise Halloween Party. The highlight of the day was the conga line throughout the facility. Residents and students shared cookies, laughter, great costumes and Halloween fun together. Our annual Halloween visit to the Sunrise is always a wonderful opportunity for students and seniors to connect with each another.
