From November 4th to 6th, 2022, 14 members of Kellenberg’s Model United Nations team traveled to the University of Connecticut Storrs Campus to participate in their 24th annual Model UN Conference. This competition hosted hundreds of students from across the country to participate in debates and discussions about global issues while practicing cooperation, respect, and teamwork.
In the General Assembly Committee, the delegates used their extensive research and knowledge to represent a country in various global issues. The Crisis Committee delegates used their role in the assembly to assess years of history and analyze different scenarios that could happen in the future. There was also a delegate dance that enabled the participants to bond with the people in their committees.
Best Delegate and Outstanding Delegate awards were given to Charles Kelleher, Sarah Rao, Matthew Meaney, Ashley Glynn, Chris Rocco, Audrey Sasso, and Nate Gallagher for their exceptional representation in their respective committees.
Megan Dunne ’24 said “Having an environment to discuss important international topics with others allowed for collaboration and influential ideas to be shared. This experience will help me with my speaking ability and professionalism throughout my life.”
This competition allowed the members of the Model UN team to participate in educational discussions pertaining to global issues while demonstrating camaraderie and teamwork with others.
