The Boys Varsity Bowling Team kicked off the new year right where they left off with back-to-back wins against St. Dom’s on Wednesday, January 4th and Holy Trinity on Thursday, January 5th.
The team has now improved to 5 and 1 on the season. In each of their most recent victories, each member of the team contributed to the wins. Newcomers Anthony Garcia, Brandon Garcia, and Caleb Cassano got their first taste of competing on a Varsity level sport and all three scored career highs with their scores.
Senior captain, Memphis Ling, continued to lead by example, scoring a game high 258 points against Holy Trinity as well as the high series of the match with a 673. He emphasized the pride he has in his team’s early success, and believes to maintain that level of play, they must, “maintain composure and always stay dialed in both physically and mentally.”
The Firebirds are looking to continue to extend their winning streak to 6 on Monday, January 9th when they face reigning champions St. Anthony’s at Bowlero Melville.
