The Kellenberg Memorial Dance Team traveled to Orlando, Florida to compete at the NDA High School National Dance Competition, which takes place March 1st through March 6th.
The team consisted of 19 dedicated and talented students who competed in the small varsity group categories for Hip Hop, Pom, and Jazz. All three of these numbers advanced to the finals, and Kellenberg history was made when the Hip Hop number placed fifth in the United States. This is the highest placement made by a Kellenberg Memorial team at this extremely prestigious and selective competition.
Senior Gabriella Lorusso said, “Traveling to NDA nationals these past two years has been my favorite part of my Kellenberg experience. The Kellenberg Varsity Dance team has changed my life for the better, and I am so thankful I was able to be a part of this gifted program for the last 5 seasons.”
Senior Julia Baratta shared, “The most rewarding part about my final nationals was making program history by placing fifth in the nation in the Small Varsity Hip Hop category! Receiving that award really made all of our hard work throughout the season worth it.”
The girls’ hard work and commitment to this team was evident through their exceptional performances, and this was an amazing end to the 2023 season!
