Kellenberg has been taken over by the new ‘Hallow’ app, a Catholic prayer and meditation app. Hallow is the top Catholic app in the App Store. The app is free to download and has tons of hours of free content.
Students in grades 9-12 have set up their accounts in their Religion classes, and they have been encouraged to use the app on their school iPads or their personal devices through Kellenberg’s partnership. As a part of that connection, families get an extended free trial of premium content as well.
‘Hallow’ provides over 5,000 unique audios following the Lectio Divina tradition, one based around meditation, Scripture, prayer, and song used to guide listeners.
There is also premium content on ‘Hallow’. There are many different genres of meditations including dailies, minutes, novenas, and meditations with special guests like actor Mark Wahlberg and NBA player Jrue Holiday.
‘Hallow’ offers different prayer challenges to join in prayer with other users as a community. One of the most popular challenges was Advent #Pray25 where 219,774 users joined as a community during the Advent season to journey through the story of salvation history.
Bro. Patrick Cahill S.M. reflected on the benefits of such advanced religious technology, stating, “Nowadays we all spend so much time on our cellphones that it’s really great that we have the opportunity to find good and find God through the ‘Hallow’ app.”
The ‘Hallow’ app has seen much traction in the Kellenberg community, but more importantly has brought students closer to God.
