The Senior class was once again brought together to celebrate the traditional Final Senior Prayer Service and annual Blue and Gold Yearbook Dedication Ceremony.
The prayer service emphasized all of the religious tools that Kellenberg has given its Seniors. Reflections from Fr. Daniel Griffin, S.M., and Fr. Thomas Cardone, S.M., followed multiple prayers and readings from various members of the faculty. Perhaps the most resonant point of all was Fr. Tom’s statement that relationships are the key to happiness and success. He stated that relationships are what makes Kellenberg so special. These reminders of everything this school has instilled in the class was a beautiful farewell.
As a souvenir, all of the seniors were given a “spiritual survival guide” for college. A special Kellenberg Rosary, stones with inspirational phrases, saint key chains, and a book written by Kelleberg’s very own Mr. Basile were included in the bag among other spiritual items. The bag itself read “100% Catholic,” reminding the seniors that above all, they are children of God.
Isaiah Desbas shared, ““Being able to celebrate our final prayer service together as a class was a great experience. I’ve made some great connections with these people over the past four years.”
To end the service, the 2025 Blue and Gold Yearbook Dedication was announced. This year, the yearbook was dedicated to Mr. Thomas Kennedy, a beloved history teacher and moderator of many clubs. His genuine love for Kellenberg and its students was emphasized during a heartfelt speech from Mr. Benintendi, Assistant Principal for Extracurricular Activities.
Although the prayer service was only twelve hours before the departure for Disney, the spirit was appropriately pious and nostalgic. It proved to be a great kickoff to the beginning of the end of the Senior’s time at Kellenberg.
