From October 20th to October 22nd, members of the Kellenberg Faustino Club were granted the opportunity to visit the Shrine of the North American Martyrs in Auriesville for the New York State Eucharistic Congress.
This shrine was where Martyr Isaac Jogues lost his life preaching to people about the Eucharist. The speakers for this event, ranging from members of the clergy to college professors, followed in Isaac’s footsteps, focusing on the nature and divinity of the Eucharist.
Along with over eight thousand participants, the students partook in a beautiful ceremony that consisted of singing, praying, Eucharistic Adoration, and Mass on the grounds of the shrine.
Senior Matthew Gavagan, a student who attended, stated, “Being able to go to Auriesville with the Faustino Club was an awesome experience because I was able to worship the Eucharist with thousands of other Catholics from all over the country. It was amazing to see so many people of all walks of life coming together for one common purpose- to worship Jesus.”
Overall, this ceremony was one the students would never forget. It allowed them to grow in their faith and connect more deeply with others.
