With prayer, festivities, and the school’s first tree lighting, Christmas at Kellenberg brought the whole Firebird family together to celebrate the coming holiday.
The event, held on the Saturday before the second week of Advent, began with a mass and continued with caroling, food, and pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus in the newly-opened FCAA.
The cafeteria boasted an assortment of snacks, most notably the delicious Christmas cookies and hot chocolate. Also in the FCAA were open bowling lanes for the students and their families to enjoy. The band had many passers by tapping their feet to the Christmas songs performed. At the conclusion of the event, the Christmas tree was lit, pointing all to the expectant season of Advent.
Rosa Sanchez, a junior who attended the event with her family, remarked, “There was so much Christmas cheer, from the holiday-themed cookies to the photos with Santa. I’m really glad I went.” Overall, this event was a fun and festive way to celebrate the upcoming Christmas season.
