On Sunday, September 17th, 2023, Kellenberg Memorial hosted their annual Grandparents’ Day Mass.
Kellenberg students in grades 10, 11, and 12 came together to spend time with their grandparents as well as God in an inspiring Mass celebrated by school chaplain Fr. Thomas Cardone, S.M. Four hundred Firebirds and their grandparents were in attendance.
Andrea Baez, a senior at Kellenberg and a Eucharistic Minister for the Mass, greatly enjoyed the experience.
“I love that I get to spend time with my grandparents as well as administering the Eucharist to other families,” she said. “Everyone should bring their grandparents to a Kellenberg mass at least once in the four years of attending Kellenberg. It’s such a great opportunity to spread the faith and love Kellenberg has to offer.”
Kellenberg hosted another Grandparents Day Mass on October 1st for students in the Latin School and Freshman. The celebrant for this Mass was Latin School chaplain Fr. Daniel Griffin, S.M.
Kellenberg would like to thank the ARK for taking the time to organize and set up this event, which included breakfast served after the Mass in the gymnasium. Kellenberg was able to provide bagels for everyone, thanks to A&S Bagels in Franklin Square.
