On Friday, November 3rd, members of Junior CROSS attended a Prayer Service for Peace at the St. Rose of Lima Church in Massapequa.
After classes on Friday, twelve Juniors traveled to St. Rose of Lima to reconnect and learn more about their faith. They began the evening with a visual exhibit of the Museum of Memory. Participants learned about the Catholic Church’s involvement in saving many Jewish lives during the Holocaust. Following, members and faculty held a prayer service for peace, keeping in mind the current need for worldwide harmony.
Though it was a silent exhibition, the intensity of the situation was known to all who attended. Junior Bethany Granados shares, “It made me realize that I need to do my part in any way I can, whether it’s through prayers or action. There’s always the option to choose peace.“ Overall, The prayer service was an extraordinary opportunity for individuals to learn more about the Church’s past and pray for its future restoration.
