On Tuesday, May 2nd, Kellenberg hosted its annual Junior Career Night. After three years of virtual events, the night was able to take place in-person from 6:45pm to 9pm in classrooms throughout the school.
The 496 members of the Junior class were able to listen to presentations and ask questions about 3 careers of their choice during the night.
Junior Megan Dunne said, “This night was a perfect opportunity to explore different professions in order to get a better idea of my future.”
Presentations were given by 40 professionals in 30 different career paths. Most of these speakers are Kellenberg alumni.
Tara Joyce, a speaker from News 12 and a graduate from the class of ‘06, shared, “I think that this event is incredibly important. I remember attending it when I was a Junior, and my biggest hope is that the students can learn from this experience. The stops that they had tonight ultimately do not have to be the paths that they chose, but I hope that it will help them in the decision making process to a career that will fulfill them and make them happy.”
The night was organized by the College Placement Office and the Advancement Office. Mr. Dugal and Ms. Gulmi coordinated the event, and it was set up with the assistance of teachers, college counselors, and guidance counselors.
“Having mostly alumni generously give their time and talents and share their knowledge and experience with our current Juniors and future alumni is just a magical experience,” Mr. Dugal said. “To see former students with current students is a great testimony to the nature of what Kellenberg is all about – connecting all of us as a firebird family.”
Overall, the Junior Career Night was an informative and successful event for the Junior class.
