Every year on September 14, Kellenberg commemorates the Feast of Triumph of the Cross with a prayer service outside.
The entire student body and faculty unite in prayer singing with Kellenberg’s Gregorian Consortium. Also in attendance were students from Marianist elementary school, St. Martin de Porres’ and parents. This year there was also a visit from several of the Little Sisters of the Poor and two of their novices.
Following the readings, Fr. Daniel Griffin, S.M., delivered the homily. In it, he noted that this year was the 30th anniversary of the feast’s celebration at Kellenberg. He even pointed out the number of faculty who had attended every Triumph of the Cross at Kellenberg either as students or faculty. He then blessed the crosses that had been distributed to the students.
One member of Gregorian Consortium, sophomore Amaya Cigliano commented that, “I think the Triumph of the Cross is such an integral part of the spiritual life at Kellenberg. It’s the perfect way to start out the school year.”
Triumph of the Cross was once again a beautiful service in which all the students and faculty came together to celebrate their faith.
