On December 16th, Kellenberg Memorial volunteers went to the Queen of Peace nursing home in Queens Village to spread some cheer by singing Christmas carols.
The elderly residents at this home ranging from 60 to 100 years old are unable to have family visit them because of COVID restrictions, so 20 Kellenberg students gladly volunteered to sing outside and create some Christmas joy. The elderly were able to greet the carollers, listen to lovely Christmas tunes, and enjoy hot chocolate to warm them and the singers up.
Brother Michael, who attended this event, said his favorite part was, “sharing the Christmas season with the elderly.”
It was a magical opportunity for Kellenberg students to help spread some Christmas cheer in the community this holiday season.
