Article by Phoenix writer Griffin Strauss ’25:
On May 3, 2023, the Body, Mind, and Heart Club hosted the Let’s Walk Let’s Talk event at the track on Matthew Field.
Here, students from all different clubs gathered to walk around the field and were encouraged to talk to someone new. Ms. Urbanski explained that the event was held to have students be physically active while also engaging in healthy social activity.
Mrs. Fiore, the head of Sophomore GSO (General Students Organization), invited the entire Sophomore GSO club to participate.
Sophomore Reese Holloway said he was excited for “quality time with friends while getting some exercise.”
Senior Grace Romano shared Reese’s sentiment saying it was a “great way to socialize and get physical activity.”
Walking with Grace was Julia Walsh ‘23, who was happy to get “a break from the iPads.”
Students were also given small paper cards containing inspirational quotes to help them be the best version of themselves. Michael DeBella ‘25 felt very inspired and was happy to be “widening (his) horizons by talking to people from all walks of life.”
The Body, Mind, and Heart Club hosts Let’s Walk Let’s Talk events throughout the year and other events similar to it. Students interested in participating in such events can see Ms. Urbanski in the Guidance Office.
