One of Kellenberg Memorial’s mottos for the new year is “Renew and Be True in 2022”. Renew and Be True in 2022 was formed to remind students of obligations that should be followed to benefit themselves and those around them. Kellenberg has started a series of “Wellness Wednesdays”, which provide students and faculty tips for starting the year on the right foot.
The first Wellness Wednesday focused on the benefits of unplugging from technology. Ava Petrosky ’22 and Gabriel Blanco ’24 filmed a skit that showed the importance of students leaving their phones off and in their lockers. Unplugging from technology reduces stress and anxiety, and it enables everyone to have more free time and increased productivity.
The second Wellness Wednesday theme was proper attire. Wearing the school uniform properly increases self-esteem, promotes academic success, and benefits the entire student body.
The theme for the third Wellness Wednesday focused on Mass etiquette. Students were reminded to be mentally present at Mass through reflecting, renewing, and revering. It also focused on the importance of listening to the readings and saying the proper responses during Mass.
Renew and Be True has been an effective way to remind students how to better themselves and their communities for the new year.
