On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, the senior class took part in a presentation about the world of finance. Kellenberg’s Director of Finance, Mrs. Marietta Tartamella, along with Ms. Berry, Miss Hartung and Mr. Cartier organized a presentation to relay to the young adults of Kellenberg how important financial decisions are. As seniors who are getting ready to graduate, it is important to recognize what goes into paying for college, managing loans, and avoiding debt. Understanding budgeting and investments are key to becoming a successful adult.
Mr. Cartier expressed, “It is important that students learn personal finance skills so that they can make informed decisions about how to best save and spend their money. Financial literacy is so vital for so many of life’s decisions. We are so pleased to offer this program to help Seniors to develop good habits early on, before going off to college.”
The speakers also dove into what it means to have a respected credit score and how to achieve this. They gave real-world examples on how to avoid financial distress and urged the seniors to make sound decisions as this will affect their credibility for years to come.
Senior Sophia Barnjak explained, “The presentation gave me insight into how to take care of my finances and gave me confidence in this area as I get ready to graduate from Kellenberg.”
