In the Fall of 2023, the PSAT/NMSQT was administered in a digital form for the first time. It was a year of adjustment as students adapted to taking standardized tests on their tablets and computers rather than on thick packets of paper.
Out of the 3.7 million students who took the PSAT last year, approximately 34,000 were recognized as Commended Students. These talented test takers scored in the top 50,000 students who entered the 2025 competition. Kellenberg is proud to announce four of its own Seniors have been chosen to be Commended Students. This group has proven what it means to be role models for academic excellence and integrity. Meghan Lazzarini, one of the Commended Students, shared, “I am very grateful to be recognized as a National Merit Commended Scholar, and I’m so thankful for the support Kellenberg has given me academically to be able to achieve this honor.” The three other recognized students were Amaya Cigliano, Christopher Rocco, and Amanda Punturieri.
Additionally, sixteen Kellenberg juniors and seniors received National Recognition from the College Board. This award is a tangible way to recognize the academic achievements of African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Indigenous/Native American, and (new in 2024) first-generation students. Congratulations to Mika Accardi, Marvelle Bretous, Ethan Claude, Zachary Corallo, Michaela Darelus, Joanna de Oliveira, Joseph Estrella, Ethan Linzey, Luis Maingon, Caleb Maingon, Madison Murray, Julia Novello, Jazmeen Osae-Kwapong, Joshua Rivera, Aiden Rojas, and Alejandro Sierra.
Assistant Principal for Guidance, Mrs. Marconi said, “We are very proud of the accomplishments of our very talented students. We are grateful that the College Board has chosen to recognize them.”
Kellenberg is extremely proud of these twenty students for their academic achievement.
