As Kellenberg prepares for the Christmas season, homerooms celebrate with a fun-filled competition to decide who has the best decorated doors and classrooms.
On November 29, students and teachers decorated with Christmas trees, ornaments, and twinkling lights. Students were allowed to wear their best ugly Christmas sweaters to further spread the Christmas cheer.
Each classroom had a different creative theme for their doors and room, all centered around the Christmas season. Handcrafted paper snowflakes hang from the ceilings. Pictures of the nativity scene, snowmen bundled up for the frosty weather, and many other Christmas-related decorations cover every room in Kellenberg, giving a bright Christmas feel to the school.
Junior Natalia Nalepinski commented, “This is my favorite day of the school year. I loved dressing up in Christmas sweaters with my friends.”
Despite stiff competition, the judges were able to decide a winner for each division. In the Latin school, the best room was awarded to 8C, and there was a tie for the best door between 6A and 7E. In the freshmen division, homeroom 9A won the best door while homeroom 9F took the best room. In the sophomore division, best door was awarded to homeroom 10B and best classroom to 10G. Out of the junior classrooms, homeroom 11H won best door, and 11F won best classroom.
Finally, in the senior division, homeroom 12F took best door, and 12L won best classroom.
Kellenberg certainly puts its Christmas spirit on display in and out of its classrooms.
