The Halloween Raffle, held from October 28-30, was spurred on by the goal of Freshman GSO (General Student Organization) to continue the excitement of Freshman Faith Day.
Mrs. Egan explained, “After a very spirited competition on Faith Day, GSO thought to capitalize on that energy. We filled a bucket with Halloween candy, and only Mrs. Hamaty and I knew the correct amount.”
It was then up to the Freshman to guess how much candy the bucket contained. During every homeroom period throughout Halloween week, representatives from Freshman GSO went homeroom by homeroom taking the estimates made by the Freshman classes. The homerooms worked together and entered a final guess onto the official entry sheet.
After a week of observing and putting in guesses, the winner was announced on October 31 as 9H. They received the bucket of candy, and were able to share it amongst themselves.
Freshman GSO is filled with enthusiasm for their goal of encouraging school spirit throughout the whole Freshman division. Events like the freshman dance that occurred on October 11th were organized by the GSO, in hopes for a good time and to inspire others to get involved.
