On Thursday, January 11, the Girls Varsity Bowling team picked up a win against Holy Trinity High School, scoring 7-2. This game improves the team’s record to 7 wins and 1 loss for the season.
Sophomore Kerri Callahan had a series of 501, and Senior Grace Pizzardi had a high game of 152. Junior Ayana Key and Sophomore Chelsea Jeancharles followed up with games of 131 and 122 respectively This win followed a victory against St. Dominic’s High School on January 10th where girls won by a final score of 8-1.
Soph Chloe Horstmann bowled the game high of 177 while teammates Junior Emma Dolan, Grace Pizzardi, and Senior Jenna Biscotti bowled a 430, 380, and 351 series respectively.
Regarding her stellar performance, Emma shared, “It has been such an exciting season! Each win is a team effort and we put in our all every match. I can’t wait to finish the season strong, and hopefully get another Kellenberg championship win!”
The Lady Firebirds have been working hard all season, which is evident by their 7-2 win over St. Mary’s High School on January 4th. Here, Chelsea Jeancharles bowled a high game of 125, and teammates Kerri Callahan and Jenna Biscotti had series of 433 and 414 respectively.
“This bowling season has been amazing,” Chelsea said. “We worked hard for our victories and supported each other throughout each and every game. I always remember that while victory is great, the connections you build on your team are even greater.”
Earlier this season on December 12th, the team faced off against Holy Trinity, winning the match 9-0. Kerri Callahan bowled a 569 series, and Junior Colleen Tierney bowled a 155 game. Jenna Biscotti also hit a high game with a 182.
On December 7, the girls took on St. Dominic’s, claiming victory with a score of 8-1. Emma Dolan and Kerri Callahan both had high games of 150. Colleen Tierney bowled a 126, and Chloe Horstmann ended with a 382 series.
The Lady Firebirds’ dedication and grind has been paying off through their victories.
Coach Frisina shared, “The team is doing very well so far this season. We have averages as high as 165 from our bowlers, and we’re looking forward to an exciting end of our season and a good run in the playoffs.”
The team looks forward to taking on St. Anthony’s High School on Thursday, January 25th.
