The Junior class received their class rings and celebrated the junior ring banquet on Friday, May 17.
In a Friday morning assembly, the juniors received their class rings. Packed into the auditorium, the entire grade took part in the Junior Ring Ceremony with parents and family in attendance.
School principal Bro. Kenneth Hoagland, S.M., spoke inspiringly on leadership and “commission into the Marianist mission.” Fr. Dan blessed the rings and Mr. Beyrouty called all juniors up to receive their ring engraved with the firebird and their graduating year, 2025.
Mother of junior Mika Accardi, shares, “I loved being present at the Jr. Ring Ceremony and watching my daughter walking up the stage to receive her Jr. Ring and Pin. Though it was a short ceremony, it was so worthwhile seeing her accomplish another milestone at this great school!”
The Juniors returned to the school building at 7 p.m. to celebrate the occasion with a dinner and banquet. The cafeteria served food to the hungry students, and after their meal they hit the dance floor of the gym, which was transformed into a roaring twenties ballroom, matching the theme of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby with golden drapes and various Gatsby-themed décor adorning the ceiling, walls, and bleachers.
Junior GSO came to school every week since October to plan and create the theme.
Mrs. Prosceo, GSO moderator, said, “They’ve worked so hard for it and we’re so excited for everyone to see the decorations and enjoy dinner, dancing, and celebrating”
Junior Maddie Fracasso shares, “I was so excited for the school dance! I had a great time dressing up, dancing with my friends, and making amazing memories!
Over 360 students came to celebrate this momentous occasion. Thanks to GSO and their hard work it was an unforgettable night. Sophomores interested in joining Junior GSO for the upcoming school year should contact Mrs. Prosceo.
