After school on February 17th, the Kellenberg students were given an exciting opportunity to listen to a live performance before they went off on February break. This performance is different from the Kellenberg Christmas and Spring concerts. This concert was performed entirely by the faculty of Kellenberg. The members of the music department collaborated on various songs. The Band, Chorus, and Orchestra departments were all represented with not only musical directors but also the students’ lesson teachers. Some of the performers included Mr. Vegas, Mrs. Tochelli, Mr. Garcia, Ms. D’ Argennio, and Mr. Collins.
The students appreciated seeing their teachers showcase their own musical talents.
Junior Livia Cigliano said, “It was really fun to see my teachers perform. It was such a different setting for them since I’m used to them teaching me. I went with my friends and we had a blast!”
The faculty performed familiar favorites including the Beatles’ “In My Life” and Journey’s “Any Way You Want It.” In addition to the faculty of the music department, students were also treated to the musical gifts of History teacher Mr. Bursig. Mr. Bursig surprised the students with his wonderful rendition of The Band’s “The Weight.”
The faculty concert has been an annual tradition at Kellenberg. With a two-year hiatus due to restrictions, it was a great experience for students and faculty alike. This year’s faculty concert was an amazing success.
