On January 29th, 2024, the One Heart, One Mind, Many Cultures Club celebrated Greek culture with a presentation by Junior Evelina Triadafilis.
Evelina began the event by speaking about her Greek heritage to members of the club. She shared, “Being Greek to me is everything! I love my culture so much, and honestly I’m so glad that I’m Greek!”
Evelina then taught the culture club three traditional Greek dances as part of this year’s theme of cultural dance. Her favorite of these, Zembekiko, involves passion and soul. “Every dance move or expression tells a story,” said Evelina.
Junior Mary Fitton, who attended this presentation, shared, “I love having the opportunity to learn about so many different cultures that I didn’t know much about before.”
When asked what impact her presentation had on the club, Evelina said, “I feel like I spread joy amongst the school. Kids were just laughing and having a good time, which is what the culture club is all about!”
The One Heart, One Mind, Many Cultures Club encourages students to embrace their own heritage while also learning about the cultures of those around them.
Students interested can join the club on Mondays in the Millennium Room after sodality. Any questions about the One Heart, One Mind, Many Cultures Club can be directed to Mrs. Mulligan or Mr. Cioffi.
