Sunday, May 15, Kellenberg sponsored their annual St. Joseph’s Night. This is an event in which the young men of Kellenberg can gather together with their fathers, grandfathers, or any other significant father figures in their lives to spend time together in prayer, dinner, and companionship.
The evening began at 4:00 PM in the auditorium with prayer and a beautiful Mass celebrated by Fr. Thomas Cardone, S.M., Fr. Daniel Griffin, S.M., and Fr. Albert Bertoni, S.M. After the Mass, former New York Jets defensive tackle and one-time Walter Payton Man of the Year award winner, Marty Lyons held a presentation.
Marty spoke about his football career and the experiences he had while playing. By the end of his speech, he transitioned into speaking about his foundation, the Marty Lyons Foundation, in which he grants wishes to children, ages 3-17, diagnosed with terminal or life-threatening wishes.
Following Marty’s speech, families were given the opportunity for a meet and greet with the player, accompanied with a dinner, games, and raffles in the school cafeteria and Queen of the Apostle Courtyard.
Junior, Miles Francisque, reflected on his evening and said, “It was a truly moving experience being able to hear Marty Lyons and what he is passionate about alongside many of the other important men in my life.”
This night was full of memorable moments that the young men of Kellenberg can cherish forever with their families to share in fellowship and prayer.
