On Tuesday, December 3rd, Kellenberg students and faculty participated in the annual Christmas decorating event.
Everyone wore Christmas sweaters to embrace the holiday cheer. Christmas music filled the halls as students and faculty enthusiastically decorated classrooms.
Before Thanksgiving break, each homeroom came up with a theme for decorating. The competition awards the homeroom with the best decorated room and most creative door.
The theme for homeroom 11E was Charlie Brown’s Christmas. Since 11E is Mr. Brown’s homeroom, on the door they wrote “A Mr. Brown’s Christmas.” Their door also featured a picture of Charlie Brown with Mr.Brown’s face on it. Inside the classroom, students made a cardboard cutout of Snoopy’s house with lights and snow and decorated with a variety of Charlie Brown characters.
Junior Carolina Figueroa from homeroom 11E says, “My favorite part about Christmas decorating this year was bonding with all of my classmates in my homeroom. With the help of Mr. Brown, we spread Christmas spirit and decorated the classroom. I think my homeroom made very unique decorations, and I believe that we could win this year’s competition.”
Meanwhile, across the hall, Mrs.Forbes’ homeroom chose a theme centered around Dunkin’ and Starbucks Christmas drinks. Their door says “Dunkin’ and Starbucks are Merrier Together” and has 3D cups from both brands with Christmas colors. Mrs. Forbes has won the door decorating contest for six consecutive years and hopes not to lose the streak.
Advent is a time of rejoice and anticipation, as we prepare for the birth of Jesus. This day was a great way to spread the joy of Christmas and beautifully decorate Kellenberg in preparation for Jesus’ birth.
