On Tuesday, November 2nd, the Boys’ Latin School Soccer Team wrapped up its successful 6-1 season with a decisive 5-2 victory over league rival St. Agnes. After falling behind 1-0 early in the game, eighth-grader Anthony Ferrante scored off a beautiful cross from fellow eighth-grader Miles Abdeldaim.
Ferrante then returned the favor by connecting with squire Colton Greene on a cross of his own. The Firebirds then added to their lead with two goals from eighth-grader Matthew Manopella, and seventh-grade defenseman Andrew Willox sealed the deal with a gorgeous kick from far out.
Asked about the main reason for the team’s triumph in the game, Coach Walsh answered, “The stellar goaltending performances of eighth-grade goalies Dan Grogan and Nick Vacchiano. Their efforts kept the vicious attack of St. Agnes at bay.”
