On Tuesday, October 17th, Kellenberg’s freshman class had their first F.A.I.T.H. Day. This is a day for students to take a break from their classes and bond with their fellow homeroom members, reflected in the acronym “F.A.I.T.H.,” standing for “Freshmen Ascending In Their Homerooms.”
In true Kellenberg fashion, the students began their day with an instructional Mass, which explained to students how to deepen their faith through the highest form of praise.
The freshmen fueled up with a bagel breakfast before splitting into their homerooms and competing against each other in multiple games, such as crab soccer and kickball. Points were awarded to homerooms for each game they won as well as their sportsmanship.
The homeroom “9H Hawks” took home the most wins and won a bagel breakfast prize.
Freshman Isabella Polanco said, “I got closer to my classmates and formed relationships with people who I’ve never talked to before through our friendly competition. I also felt a closer connection with God.”
Senior Homeroom Leaders, who accompany and mentor their freshman homerooms three times a week, also joined in on their homerooms’ F.A.I.T.H. Day fun.
Senior Cole Curtis shared, “It was nice to see all the Freshmen come together as a group. I saw some of my friends from my F.A.I.T.H. Days, and it was cool to see other people making those bonds. I had a lot of fun helping my Freshman homeroom win games.”
The students ended their day with Eucharistic Adoration, a chance to reflect on their day of faith and fun.
Overall, F.A.I.T.H. Day was a fun-filled and very memorable day for every member of the freshman class.
