On October 4, Kellenberg students and faculty enjoyed the first XLT of the year together.
Being one of Kellenberg’s most beloved traditions, XLT unites both students and staff alike in prayer and adoration. Before adoration began, the Kellenberg family shared a family dinner in the cafeteria to appreciate the presence of one another before appreciating the presence of the Eucharist. Besides meeting for dinner, some students met even before that in clubs such as Adele Club, moderated by Miss Doodian and Mrs. Gaspe, to even further prepare themselves for the faith-filled experience.
Starting off the year on a strong note, Mr. Coiffi gave a moving speech about the importance of taking pride in the religious parts of ourselves, and how we shouldn’t be afraid to let it shine in all areas of our lives. Unfortunately for many of us, demonstrating our faith outside of a Catholic environment is challenging. Fear of what our peers might think or say can hold us back from expressing our faith. At XLT, Mr. Cioffi shared the beautiful revelation, “We are the Jesus people. Is there a better nickname? Is there a better way for people to know you and how you identify?” He inspired many people in the crowd, including junior Shelby Regan, who says the speech inspired her to “forget other’s opinions of us and not be afraid to be ‘Jesus People.’” With such an electrifying speech to start off the year, Kellenberg looks forward to what is in store for our next XLT!
