Article by Phoenix writer Delaney Clark ’25:
This past July, twelve seniors along with Brother Peter Sennert, S.M. and Miss Lauren Doodian attended the week-long Marianist LIFE program, which stands for Living In Faith Experience. The group stayed in the Bergamo Center, a retreat center of the USA Province of Marianists, located in Dayton, Ohio.
This week was an opportunity for the young people to tap into their leadership abilities. Along with the usual retreat games, the team had many moments of prayer, was given direction on how to give a witness talk, and learned how to set an example in faith for younger students. They spent this week unplugged so that they may learn more about themselves as well as other students from San Antonio, St. Louis, and Pittsburgh who were taking part in the program.
Using their training, the Marianist LIFE team will now strive to be role models for the rest of the students at Kellenberg Memorial High School.
When asked what the goal of the Marianist LIFE team is, Miss Doodian said, “Our goal as the Marianist LIFE team at Kellenberg is to reach out and ignite the faith of every member of the Kellenberg Memorial family, all our efforts being done to Jesus through Mary!”
Be sure to look out for the Marianist LIFE Team during this school year at any religious event!
