‘On May 25, Kellenberg hosted one of its popular apostolic activities, a monthly Eucharistic adoration, or XLT.
Students started the final XLT of the year talking with friends over a delicious dinner provided by Kellenberg. In addition to Kellenberg students, fellow Marianist students from Chaminade were in attendance. Some Kellenberg alumni were present for the night as well.
Following dinner, students gathered into the auditorium for prayer and adoration. Fr. Daniel Griffin, S.M., ‘02, processed into the auditorium along with several seniors holding candles. During adoration, Fr. Dan held the Eucharist high for all to see as he stood at the altar on stage.
“The auditorium was dark, only lit up by the candles. That, along with Fr. Dan holding the Eucharist was comforting, and brought me a sense of peace.” says junior Micaela Maywald.
As students prayed, the XLT Band provided beautiful songs to meditate on.
Mrs. Page was the speaker for the night. She told the students about her fifth period midday prayer group. Following Mrs. Page’s reflection, some of the students from her prayer group spoke. These students discussed why they pray and what prayer means to them as Kellenberg students.
The night ended with a Eucharistic procession out of the auditorium and then a collective singing of the Salve Regina. Students were especially enthusiastic for the final song of the night, My Lighthouse by Rend Collective. The song was sung by graduating senior Rino Monteforte to numerous cheers from the students.
