In honor of the Virgin Mary, Kellenberg held its annual Rosary Prayer Service on Friday, October 4. October is designated as a month to pay tribute to Our Lady of the Rosary. Kellenberg embraced this tradition as students and faculty united in prayer. Sophomores, freshmen, and seniors were in their homerooms watching the livestream, while juniors and Latin School students congregated in the auditorium. Despite the student body being physically divided, a deep spiritual bond was felt among all participants.
Faculty shared readings on the five Luminous Mysteries, and representatives from each grade recited a decade of the Rosary. These recitations were supplemented by meditations from the Marianist LIFE Team. Afterwards, the Gregorian Consortium performed a selection of beautiful songs and hymns. Junior Maeve Gately says, “I love singing with the Gregorian Consortium at school events. Everyone is so talented, and being able to sing with them at school events like these is such an honor.”
At the conclusion, everyone was sent to their homerooms to have a communal breakfast. The Rosary Prayer Service is especially important at Kellenberg, a Marianist school, as it allows the community to deepen their connection with Mary. Mrs. Delbrune shared, “Praying the Rosary slows the students down. It calms their hearts and helps them rest in God’s presence.” Once again, the Rosary Prayer Service proved to be a highlight of the school year.
