Honoring a monthly tradition, Kellenberg and the ARK hosted the first XLT service of the new year on January 10th. XLT is a religious service that focuses on Eucharistic Adoration and a witness talk from a member of the Kellenberg faculty or Marianist brotherhood. The speaker at this month’s XLT was Bro. Timothy Driscoll S.M.. This is Bro. Tim’s first year as a senior religion teacher at Kellenberg after spending many years teaching and acting as an administrator at Chaminade.
Bro. Tim spoke about his love of vocabulary and his fascination with the Oxford Word of the Year, which for 2023, was “rizz,” a shortened form of the word “charisma.” Bro. Tim spokes about how Blessed Chaminade and Blessed Adele used their charisma to convert people to Catholicism and join the Marianist order. At the end of the service, Bro. Tim gave out cards with two impactful quotes from Blessed Adele and Blessed Chaminade reminding students that they too should preach their Catholic views.
Isabella Taliercio ‘25 said, “It was really interesting how Bro. Tim connected a modern word to our religion. He did a really good job connecting faith with everyday life.” The first XLT service of the year gave students the opportunity to grow closer to their faith through prayer.
