On March 23, Junior members of CROSS participated in making Easter baskets for the elderly in the Queen of Peace Residence, a nursing home run by the Little Sisters of the Poor.
The baskets contained handwritten cards for each of the residents along with classic Easter eggs and candy.
Mr. Krug, a moderator for Junior CROSS, said, “We want to continue to bring happiness to the residents in any way we can, and this is one way to show our care and support.”
Later in May, CROSS members plan to write Mother’s Day cards for those residents who are not able to spend the day with their family.
CROSS, which stands for Christians Reaching Out Spreading Spirituality, is a club centered around faith and service. The club has been connected with the Queen of Peace Residence for the past 30 years, helping and caring for the residents in a multitude of ways.
CROSS members and the residents at Queen of Peace have a special, intergenerational relationship that will hopefully continue for many years to come.
