Each year, Kellenberg hosts the Advent Queen of Peace Collection in which all students are encouraged to contribute. This year, the drive will take place on Tuesday, November 30th through Wednesday December 8th. There will be bins available in the lobby for all donations to be placed into.
Each year, the collection for the elderly fills the school with Christmas spirit and gratitude for all that we have.
For this drive, Kellenberg is asking for common necessities that we may take for granted but will mean a great deal to others. Over the past few years, students have made a tremendous effort in contributing to this valuable cause.
The Little Sisters of the Poor operate the Queen of Peace Residence where they give the elderly a new home away from home. The sisters believe that Christ is present in every person, so they do their best to care for the elderly as they would care for Christ.
Over the past year, the residents have not been able to see their families face-to-face, and by receiving these generous contributions from the Kellenberg family, it brings them joy. Normally, the elderly join the Kellenberg community in celebrating Mass during the season of Advent, but due to these unique circumstances, they are unable to take part in this.
For the past 32 years, the Kellenberg family has had the joyous opportunity in assisting the Little Sisters and their residents with numerous services and donations. Every small contribution is appreciated more than we know.
