On Monday, October 3rd, nearly 400 students gathered together to attend the Sodality Opening Prayer Service. The prayerful event is sponsored by the ARK as a kickoff to the sodality year for all sophomore, junior and senior students.
Sodality is one of the cornerstone activities for Kellenberg students. It allows students to meet with classmates and friends to discuss their daily faith lives. It comes directly from the influence of Blessed Chaminade who believed that re-Christianizing the world would be possible through small groups of faithful Catholics who support each other in their everyday lives.
Bro. Patrick Cahlil S.M. opened up the service with a short presentation followed by the Eucharist displayed by Fr. Thomas Cardone S.M.. At the end, students proceeded to the Maria Regina Chapel for a period of adoration.
Mr. Moran said, “It was a beautiful reminder to begin the year with a eucharistic focus.” This quote is significant because it reminds us that our goal is to lead our daily lives with a focus on communion and the presence of Christ.
Following the service, all activities and athletic events will be put on hold every Monday from 3:00–3:30. This allows sodality members to meet with their groups to talk about topics related to their faith. All students have the opportunity to join a sodality. If you have interest in joining sodality, talk to your classmates about the moderators for your grade and meet with or email the teacher to join.
